Jeff set up Roberts Environmental Ltd having previously worked for GVA Grimley Ltd as an Associate Director where he headed up the Environmental Services department for the North of England and Scotland. He has also worked in consultancy for WSP Environmental Ltd in the London market and Waterman Environmental within the North East. Jeff provides a service that identifies the environmental risks and liabilities for investors, banks and developers.
In jargon-free terms, he assesses the many complex issues which can arise in assessing environmental land quality. Jeff’s work includes all aspects of land quality, due diligence auditing, flood risk, site investigation and remediation project management.
Over the years, Jeff has worked as a consultant for many Government Departments, Local Authorities, major landowners and FTSE100 companies advising on land contamination issues and remediation strategies.
Jeff is a Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).
Mike Hay is a Director at Roberts Environmental Ltd and strengthens the experienced environmental consultancy structure of the business as well as providing geotechnical expertise. Mike has worked on a wide variety of complex projects delivering successful, cost effective outcomes in scenarios such as due diligence, site investigations, coal mining risk assessments, remediation and validation.
Mike is highly experienced in working on an extensive scope of projects providing solutions for individual developments as well as integrating services between multiple subcontractors in delivering highly quality outcomes.
Mike is a Fellow of the Geological Society.
Andrew is a Principal Consultant at Roberts Environmental and provides a broad range of experience, covering the management, design, and implementation of geo-environmental site investigation, the production of Phase 1, Phase 2 and Validation reports, landfill gas assessment, designing and undertaking Biological Water Quality Surveys, Flood Risk Assessments, and the management of multi-disciplinary development projects.
Andrew has worked in both the private and public sector, having worked, for Watermen Energy Environment and Design, Environmental Resources Management and the James Hutton Institute in Aberdeen.
Andrew is a Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).
Chris joined Roberts Environmental in 2017 as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer after completing his MSc at Newcastle University. He brings over 11 years work experience in geotechnics, engineering geology and mining to the business. Chris has previously worked for both contractors and consultants around the UK and overseas delivering projects in the road, rail, airport, water and nuclear sectors, including high-profile infrastructure jobs such as Cross-Rail and HS2.
Chris has expertise in a wide range of in-situ and laboratory geotechnical testing techniques, working with engineers to develop cost-effective foundation design and ground engineering solutions for technically challenging developments.
Chris has been a Fellow of the Geological Society since 2005 and continues to attend CPD events.
Ellie is a Graduate Consultant at Roberts Environmental, joining the company in 2016, after completing her degree at Hull University where she gained a background knowledge in specialised fields such as sedimentology, hydrology, environmental sustainability and biogeography. During this time, she undertook an internship with Horizon Nuclear Power at Wylfa Newydd which helped to provide the basis for her dissertation.
Since joining Roberts Environmental Ellie has gained experience in the provision of Phase I Environmental Assessments both for due diligence and planning purposes and specialises in the delivery of Coal Mining Risk Assessments. She has subsequently undertaken Phase II Geo-Environmental Site Investigations and Risk Assessments at both large development sites and for smaller residential plots.
Nelli is a consultant at Roberts Environmental who started her career as a petroleum geologist specialising in the redevelopment of depleted hydrocarbon fields in underground gas storage facilities and geological and ecological modelling and monitoring. She has gained extensive experience in both large international and small scale geo-environmental and geotechnical site investigations and Environment Impact Assessments.
Nelli then undertook a further MSc at Cardiff University to specialise in the redevelopment of land impacted by hydrocarbons. This included the geo-environmental investigation for Dagenham Docks, London which provided basis for her dissertation. Having previously worked at Gazprom in Russia, Clarkebond Group and Watermen Energy Environment and Design in the UK, she offers environmental and geotechnical expertise and is skilled in site investigation work in accordance with British Standards and Eurocodes and the subsequent production of Phase I and Phase II reports. Since joining Roberts Environmental, Nelli has gained experience in the provision of due diligence reports and Coal Mining Risk Assessments and is working towards Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment accreditation.
Chris recently graduated from Newcastle University with an MSc in Engineering Geology and joined Roberts Environmental in 2017 as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer. He initially developed a keen sense for geology and physical geography at Edge Hill University where he gained proficiency in petrology, sedimentology, hydrology, core logging, geoenvironmental management and a field mapping project on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
Since joining Roberts Environmental, Chris has gained valuable experience in the preparation of Phase I Environmental Assessments both for due diligence and planning purposes followed by the execution of Phase II Geo-Environmental Site Investigations. His geotechnical expertise and understanding of sub-surface strata are currently utilised for recommending foundation design and the interpretation of varying soils.
Chris is a fellow of the Geological Society.
Jane has over 20 years’ experience working for a number of top Chartered Surveying and Development companies, including Sanderson Townend & Gilbert (now Sanderson Weatherall) and Lamb & Edge (now GVA) where she provided various secretarial, office administrative and personal assistant roles. Jane holds a number of qualifications including a National Diploma in Business and Finance with Secretarial options.
Jane also held the position of Personal Assistant to the Regional Director for Easter Group where she played a key part in the successful running of the business, responsible for all day to day aspects of the North East Regional Offices and developments.
More recently, Jane was employed at a NNT LIFTCo, a Local Trust Development Company, as Office Manager before joining Roberts Environmental in June 2014, where she holds the position of Office Manager and is responsible for financial management functions including invoicing and supplier management, ensuring the office is run efficiently and effectively, and co-ordination and communication with key members of staff.
